.NAME Domains

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME extension is the sole TLD planned for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. At first, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to order john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought 3rd-level domain names remained functional.

Through our firm, you can buy your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to correct the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you take its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. There are no specific prerequisites on who can buy a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the objective behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.

The dot NAME top-level domain is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no additional cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the right spelling in your local language.
